Our PTO is organized in order to enhance and support the educational and spiritual experience at Northland Christian School, to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parent involvement, and to improve the environment at Northland Christian School through volunteer and financial support.
Northland Staff Support
- Organizing parent donations for staff Christmas Fund
- Providing staff appreciation lunches
- Supplying bottled water and healthy snacks for teacher workrooms
Northland Families Support
- Providing social and spiritual development at annual parent/child events
- Providing orientation and mentoring to new families
- Communicating with parents through Grade Level Representatives
- Hosting Graduation receptions
- Assisting with Science Night, PE Show & Grandparents' Day, Homecoming Dinner & Dance, Spiritual Renewal Days on both campuses, Little Boots Round Up
The Northland PTO Board consists of all officers of the Executive Board and all Standing Committee Chairmen. The General Membership shall consist of any parent, guardian, or other adult standing in loco parentis for a student at the school may be a member. The Superintendent, Principals, Northland Board of Trustee members, and any teacher or staff member employed by the school may be a member. Members are required to be current on their annual dues assessment. All families are required to pay an annual fee at the beginning of each school year.
Executive Board: The Executive Board consists of the following officers: President, 1st Vice President, Vice President Elementary, Vice President Secondary, Vice President Black & Gold, Vice President Special Events, Secretary, Treasurer, and President Emeritus. Officer positions can be shared by more than one person. The Executive Board is responsible for establishing and overseeing committees to conduct the work of the PTO, establishing fundraising programs as needed, creating standing rules and policies, creating standing and temporary committees, development of the PTO’s annual budget and its submission to the full board for approval, and the preparation of reports and recommendations to the membership.
Standing Committees: The following committees shall be held by the organization: Black & Gold Auction, Black & Gold Logistics, Secondary Campus Cookie Sales, Box Tops Program, Grade Representatives (pre-school through 12th grade), Grandparents' Day, Homecoming, Elementary Campus Library, Elementary Muffins with Mom/Donuts with Dad, Family Events, PE Representatives, New Family Representative, and Teacher Support. Committee chairmanships can be shared. The Executive Board may appoint additional committees as needed.
