High school volleyball moves to 3 and 1 in district play!

VB action shot
The Northland Christian High School volleyball team was in action Thursday night against the Lady Saints from Saint Thomas Episcopal. The Lady Cougars were in control from the first serve, never trailed, and defeated the Lady Saints in straight sets. The team is currently riding a streak of 9 sets without a loss.

This was a great team win, as all of the varsity ladies contributed. Miranda Simmons, Grace Trevino, Aimee Arash-Ajayi, and Meredith Hinkle were unstoppable at the net. Josie Bower ran a streak of 9 serves for nine straight points. Heidi Gidden served without a miss, and had many crucial digs to keep the Cougar offensive attack going. Nicole Berkeland's sets were the catalyst to many kills by Simmons, Hinkle, Arash-Ajayi, Trevino, and Bower. Rachel Gidden continues to add value from the Libero spot. Her quickness and tenacity allow her to prevent countless kills for opposing hitters.
