Students in grades K-5 attend vocal music classes several times per week with an experienced vocal instructor. Northland believes that a strong music background for all of its students is essential to growing well-rounded children. Music Involves science, math, foreign language, history, physical education, and art. Most importantly it reveals the glory of our Creator. Students are exposed to a wide variety of composers and their works. They are taught to read music and to sing both individually and in groups. Learning takes place through playing games, group work, and physical movement. Two concerts are performed each year as well as Western Day square dancing and Reader’s Theater performances.
“Sing to the Lord all the earth, proclaim His salvation day after day.” I Chronicles 16:23
“What a tragedy it would be if we lived in a world where music was not taught to children.” (General Norman Schwarzkopf, United States Army)
