Roger Elswick is the current President of the Foundation. His association with Northland Christian School began when his daughter, Makena began attending the preschool at 18 months old in 2009. The Elswicks are well aware of how important a quality education is to young students. Roger explains, “Education changes lives and I want to assist Northland in having all the resources they need to accomplish their goals for students. School is important because the knowledge provided will lead students to wisdom. With wisdom comes blessings as they learn to bless others in return.”
No stranger to the art of blessing others, Roger has been very active in Baytown raising funds for non-profits. As the first president of the Goose Creek CISD Education Foundation, he is very familiar with providing teachers grants for innovative teaching. He has helped other civic clubs raise money for community shelters that serve homeless women and men. He often worked to spearhead fish frys and other community campaigns that raise funds for good causes. His wife, Kim has been active in the PTO at the Elementary School and manages the family’s busy lifestyle.
The Elswicks own three automobile dealerships in Baytown, Texas. Their establishments, Community Toyota, Honda, and Kia, are growing because of their attention to customer service. Named the Citizen of the Year in Baytown, he credits God with his success and passion for others. Community Toyota is a Northland Christian School Business Partner at the Platinum Level, and Community Kia and Community Honda are Gold Level Business Partners.
Roger encourages parents to be involved with their children’s education. He wants students to grow in the knowledge of Christ and let the Holy Spirit guide life’s decisions. His favorite scripture from the Bible, Proverbs 22:6, in regard to education is, “Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older they will not depart from it.”
