The mission of the NCS Foundation is to serve and honor God by providing support and resources to ensure the long-term excellence of Northland Christian School. The foundation builds, maintains, and expands a network of support and resources for long-term success and financial benefits to the school. The NCS Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization directed toward the support of the school’s mission.
The NCS Foundation and the NCS Development Department work together to build relationships with donors to find support for student tuition assistance/scholarships and faculty/staff grants.
Nick Alfano and his wife, Deah Alfano, founded Crescent Star Properties in 2018. Deah is his wife of 14 Years and they have four children who all attend Northland Christian School. All Children have been at Northland since 18 months of age. “ We started NCS in 2010, we love the values and life lessons that NCS teaches our four children. All of our children have flourished at Northland and will continue to.
Kevin T. King II is a devout Christian, a husband, a father, and a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. Kevin was born and raised in North Carolina. He was raised by a single mother who worked hard as a teacher and later as an assistant principal. Kevin strongly believes in God and family. Kevin showed a lot of interest in reading and higher education early in life, and his mother provided him with all the tools he needed to achieve the best in his life. He graduated in 2011 as a board-certified general dentist and moved to Houston permanently to make a better life for him and his family. After a few years of working as a general dentist, he realized his desire and the need to become a pediatric dentist. He later graduated from the Prestigious NYU Langone program with a degree in Pediatric dentistry. Kevin is also married to his wife, Sharareh, for seven years, and they have a beautiful four-year-old daughter named Kimiya. Working as a Pediatric Surgeon gave Kevin the insight of what this generation needs, and he is very motivated to provide the best he can, not only for his child but every child at Northland Christian School.
Rev. David Leard is honored to serve on the Foundation Board of Directors because of Northland’s rich history and its bright future. He and his wife, Kristin, in 2010 were looking for an academic environment that would provide opportunities to thrive for their two children, Maddie and Jackson. David says, “Being a part of the Northland family has exceeded all of our expectations for excellence, both in the classroom and beyond. Together we are helping to raise the next generation to be faithful to God’s call in their lives.”
David is a staff chaplain for Palliative and Support Medicine at Memorial Hermann Health System. Before becoming a hospital chaplain, David served in pastoral ministry for over twenty years at Bel Air Presbyterian Church in Los Angles, California; First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Northwoods Presbyterian Church, in Houston, Texas. He is a board certified chaplain, ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., and holds a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena California.
His favorite Bible verse sums up the good news of the gospel in one short sentence, “We love because God first loved us” 1 John 4:19.
Dr. Cristina Marchesano is a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing since 2012. Dr. Marchesano grew up in Sugar Land, Texas where most of her large Italian family still lives. She attended Houston Baptist University for her undergraduate work and medical school at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in collaboration with Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital and was Chief Resident of the Pediatric Residency Program. Dr. Marchesano met her husband, Dr. Shaun Varghese, during medical school, and they got married after their intern year of residency. She and her husband now live in Spring, TX, with their 2 sons, Blake and Chase. They own a pediatric Neurology practice, THINK Neurology for Kids, with locations in Houston, Austin, Gulf Coast, and San Antonio. They enjoy boating, traveling, and staying active with their 2 boys.
Lisa Pugh graduated from Klein High School and has lived in the community for most of her life. She has worked for Memorial Hermann Health System for almost 15 years, with 9 of those years at The Woodlands Medical Center campus.
Lisa graduated from Stephen F. Austin in 2001. She has a total of 18 years of healthcare experience. Lisa lives in Spring with Joe, her husband of 17 years, and her two beautiful daughters, Madeline, 11, and Harper, 6.
